My father opened Safe Turn on 5th Avenue in 1994, and I took over in 2015. We've taught thousands of Brooklynites to drive, from nervous teens to grandparents who finally decided it was time. Our cars are dual-brake Toyota Corollas, and every instructor is NYS DMV certified.
We pick you up from home, school or work anywhere in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Sunset Park and Bensonhurst. Book lessons in the app, and we'll tell you honestly when you're ready for the road test.

Road Test Prep
Our Road Test Package includes a warm-up lesson right before your test, use of our dual-brake Corolla for the test, and pickup and drop-off at the test site.
Before booking your road test you'll need your learner permit, the 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course certificate and, if you're under 18, a completed MV-262 with 50 hours of supervised practice.
DEFENSIVE DRIVING TIPS
For Parents
After every lesson, we send a quick note on what your teen practiced and what to work on at home. Practicing between lessons is the fastest way to road-test ready.
Every instructor is NYS DMV certified and background checked, and every car has a passenger-side brake. We'll tell you honestly when your teen is ready, and not before.
