Popular classes used to mean a crowd at the studio door and a trainer turning people away. Now members reserve a place in Zumba, the 7 am yoga class with its limited mats, or Saturday's HIIT, drop it up to half an hour before if plans change, and see when it's full. At peak hours they join the queue for the squat rack from the car park.

Now weekly weigh-ins are charted against a target, and the waist is measured once a month against a goal, so client and trainer see the same trend. Each client also has their own plan page, written and updated by the trainer.
